I had to share a great idea my friend Laura Greaves of Viva La Succulents created for one of our upcoming weddings this summer. Jessica and Sam want to capitalize on dual themes of the wine region they love (being Cal Poly grads) and being green. Obviously with all the floral and succulents we have here on the Estate already (as pictured), it will be a perfect themed tie-in.
Here’s just one cool idea adding a sustainable use for the plethora of wine and champagne corks from our local wine regions. Taking advantage of the many unique succulents that thrive here in California and due to Native Sons Nursery being right here in our own backyard, there are so many colorful plant choices. Combining these as design elements makes a great favor; wedding guests can take them home and start their own little gardens with zero effort. As my friend Laura likes to say, ‘just pick and stick’ and voila, a new garden is on its way—and a nice memento from a beautiful wedding that will live on.
