Annelise + Braden

When your bride is published several times and she is quoted as saying, “Our wedding was a full-blown dance party from start to finish,” you know everyone had an amazing time! And this truly was the case for Anelisse and Braden’s wedding weekend.

I still remember Anelisse and Braden touring our San Luis Obispo wedding venue. They were so excited at how much The Casitas would match their original vision: a destination wedding in Tulum, Mexico. Because traveling to Mexico wasn’t a feasible option for many family members, the couple started exploring other options where they could find the same feel and fun of a Mexican wedding. When they saw the grounds, Spanish architecture, and luxury outdoor setting of The Casitas, they fell in love not only with all of the Spanish vibes, but also how quaint and charming the outdoor space is. They knew they’d found the perfect backdrop. Read on for how they capitalized on the features we have here by adding some trend-setting ideas for decorations and so much more.

Before they married at The Casitas Estate in October 2019, Anelisse and Braden had met 10 years before at a friend’s party. When their wedding took place a decade later, you knew this was going to be a celebratory event. Spoiler alert! Do not miss the video of their wedding ceremony. It was so wonderful. Both of their Moms officiated the ceremony, and the vows they shared offered both laughs and so much emotion. They did it right!

The perfect details: First off, their unique idea of hanging the custom hot pink neon “Life is Good” sign under the wisteria between the front courtyard and the back reception area. Since then, many other wedding couples at The Casitas have used this idea with their own flair–and it’s easy to see why! One memorable example was a couple that used their new last name and afterwards hung it up in their home as decoration.

Anelisse and Braden also offered each guest a custom-branded coconut, created by a friend. These were a huge hit during their cocktail hour in our front fountain courtyard.

While they didn’t use the typical rental offering, their splurge using Avenue 12 rentals really made the Tulum-inspired wedding come alive. Other special touches included with Precious and Bloom’s stellar ceremony arch in bougainvillea and using proteas and leucadendrons in the table arrangements and bouquets. Even the maracas used to identify seating tableside was just the right touch to bring Tulum to our Central Coast wedding venue and create their desired feel.

Their meal also added to the festivities, with a taco bar and margaritas. This way, they could splurge on areas of the wedding that were important and still offer great tasty treats for their guests. It was definitely an affair to remember.
